Freckles Lettuce Cut and Come Again

Lettuce Freckles is an unusual semi-cos heritage diversity that has bright green leaves with splodges of burgundy/ruddy - the red darkens as the lettuce foliage matures.

An excellent 'cutting & come again' variety - but snip a few leaves at a time to ensure fresh new leaf production. It can be picked at around 26 days equally 'baby leafage' lettuce or left to fully mature which takes about 55 days.

Lettuce Freckles is slow to bolt then tin can be sown from March to June. Many other lettuce varieties will bolt quickly if sown in summer months.

Lettuce Freckles will add together colour to your salad bowl and brighten up your veg patch - a decorative and useful variety to grow & consume!

Seed Quantity:	Approx 1,000 seeds per pack.
Site:	Prefers well-drained, moist rich site. Autumn sowings in greenhouse / polytunnels in grow bags or containers or the soil.
When to Sow	Inside: Feb Outside: March to June
How to Sow:	Sow thinly in pre-watered drills 1cm deep in rows 30cm apart and lightly cover with fine soil. Seedlings announced in 7-14 days. When big enough to handle, thin seedlings to 15cm apart and then once more two-3 weeks later on to every 30cm autonomously. Sow every two-3 weeks for a continuous supply. (Sowings may do good from cloche or fleece protection and they might benefit from sowing within in very common cold spells and transplanting seedlings outside and and then fleecing).
Care:	In bound/summer keep soil moist especially during dry weather, weed free and protect early sowings with a cloche. Best to water in the morning time equally watering in the evening will increase the risk of illness.
Harvest:	June to September.
